Fun Ways to Boost Your Self Esteem

Summer isn’t quite over yet, and that means that we are still in season for clothing that doesn’t cover all that much.  If you are anything like me, this can give you a little bit of anxiety. Actually, a lot of anxiety.  I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t always feel that comfortable in my own skin.  But there are ways that I like to make myself feel beautiful and confident… you know, small ways.

Whether you spend your summer days laying on the beach, poolside, camping in the hills, or in the comfort of your air conditioned home, here are some small ways that you can increase your confidence and give yourself a little boost right when you need it the most:

Wear Colorful Nail Polish--

This is incredibly easy and so much fun.  Stores like Sephora and Ulta carry top brands of nail polish that have long wear time that won’t chip or smudge and will give you days of long-lasting stay power.  If you have never painted your nails at home before, it takes only a few minutes, and you can easily match your hands to your feet and create some polished looks in no time.  With the help of Pinterest, you can even make some sweet nail art that looks semi-professional. Play with color, live it up!

Go Full Glam--

On drab days, nothing is better than putting on a full face of high-end makeup.  I mean, the whole shebang. From primer to setting spray. Don’t miss a step! If you haven’t dabbled in makeup before, there are a significant amount of YouTube video tutorials that can guide you in the right direction.  It’s a lot of fun and can turn your entire mood around instantly. You will be amazed at what a little bit of lipstick and highlighter will do for you!

Wear Sexy Underwear--

This is an easy one, but one that should definitely be mentioned.  Wearing a pair of underwear that makes you feel confident underneath your clothes can set the standard for your entire day.  Whether you play it safe with your favorite pair of comfies like the ones on knix.com, or you choose something a little more daring-- this is a fantastic tip that I use for a little esteem boost when I need it.  I just feel better about myself when I feel good about what I am wearing.

Wear Unique Body Jewelry--

Another tip that I like to use is when I want to draw attention to specific places on my body, I use body jewelry.  For instance, I use ankle bracelets, toe rings, knuckle rings, and several types of earrings. There are many other types of body jewelry that you can pick from (but those are my choices).  I think it is fun and a great way to keep people’s attention at a specific area of your body, and away from others.
