10 Ways You Didn’t Know Your Home Could Be Dirty


Maintaining a beautiful home is never an easy task. From the large DIY jobs you will have to do, to the work you do behind the scenes to keep the place clean, there will be hundreds of hours put into the space you have built for yourself. Of course, this is a job done through passion, though, and you will enjoy seeing the results of it. This makes it a big shame when some parts of the home get ignored, being left to get into a bad state. To help you out with this, this post will be exploring some of the little areas around your home which will be very easy to miss during your big cleans.

Cupboards/Other Storage--
To start this process, you should be looking at the the furniture which room to store things. When something spends most of its time outside, it’s easy to assume that it is their natural state, or to simply leave it to stay messy. You won’t need any special magic or skills to have the chance at this. Instead, when you find an untidy drawer or cupboard, you need to handle the work quickly and effectively, working towards storage spaces which can’t host websites and makes it easy to find the things you need.

Under Furniture--
Like the storage furniture around you home, the space beneath each piece will often go ignored. Over the years, though, this could become a truly disgusting mess if you don’t do anything to it, and this isn’t what you want in your home. Cleaning and tidying this part of the home won’t need to be done quite as much as other areas. To get the job done, a lot of people will simply vacuum these areas, ensuring that lose waste is collected. Along with this, though, it could be worth thinking about larger objects, too, as they will often make their way into areas like this.

Windows/Mirrors--
There are loads of different materials found in and around a modern home. For example, wood is probably the most common, providing a strong and easy to work with surface which also looks very nice. For a long time, glass has been a key component in the building of a home. Of course, though, this part of the house will look bad without the right cleaning. To make this as easy as possible for you, it will be worth looking into the idea of hiring a window cleaner to do this work for you. Having the skills to wash glass without leaving streaks is something which most people don’t have.

Carpets/Floors--
While most of the unpleasant things you find on your floors will be visible and easy to spot, there are a couple of considerations to make which break this trend. Fleas are a great example of this, as they are almost invisible to the naked eye, while also being able to do very well living in your carpets. To get rid of fleas, you will first need to use some of this flea treatment on the pets themselves, while also using some pest spray around the entire home. Once you have this sort of space sorted, it will be easy to focus on the jobs you have to do more often.

Drains--
Having too many solids go down the drains in your home is always a gateway to mess. Even in homes with modern plumbing, it won’t take long for this part of the home to start to smell and fill up if you’re not careful. In a lot of cases, the key contributor to this will be hair. Inside drains, this elements will always cause a blockage, sticking to the sides and making it impossible for water to get through. The best way to sort out this issue is with a simple bottle of drain cleaner. Of course, though, if you let things get too bad, it could become a job for a plumber or a similar professional, and this will be a lot more expensive than sorting it out yourself.

In The Trash--
When filling their cans up, most homes will user special bags and liners to make sure that things are kept clean. Over the years, though, you won’t be able to control all of the mess which finds its way into your bin, and this will be an area to keep an eye on. It won’t take long for the smell of a dirty bin to start to reach people when the weather gets warm. Creating a bubble of stink around you home, a lot of people will want to avoid this, as it will be very embarrassing to have people notice this part of your place. To keep your trash cans clean, there are loads of companies out there which offer services in this area, and you can often find them with a couple of searches.

The Kid’s Space--
Finally, as the last space to think about, it’s time to consider the mess your children can make. In their bedrooms, there could be messes which you have no idea about, hidden away to avoid trouble for the little one. Of course, regardless of what it is, it’s always best to try and avoid this with your children. One of the best ways to do this is by having a mild reaction when your child does something like this. This way, they won’t feel compelled to hide things, because they will know that they won’t be treated badly because of it.

A lot of people struggle to think about these spaces, leaving them with all of the other jobs which are essential.
