Exercises to Relieve Back Pain

Back pain can be haunting, especially if you sit at a desk all day for your job. Less than perfect posture and long periods of time without physical activity can cause our backs to ache and have a constant subtle (or not so subtle) pain.
The team at Walker Spine & Sports Specialists, doctors for back pain in Idaho Falls, have put together this list of exercises to help you relieve your back pain.
At Work Exercises--
Every hour or so, stop and do 3-5 minutes of exercise to keep from getting to stiff and causing you pain later. If you can’t stop every hour to exercise, try doing some simple stretches at your desk, or taking a brisk walk during your lunch break.
Work + Money has a great yoga routine that you can do right from your desk. It’s just a series of simple stretches to help keep you loose throughout the day.
At Home or Gym Exercises--
After your workout at the gym, take a few minutes to stretch out your back. Your back is a part of every workout that you do, so treat it well. Stretching will prevent further pain and help relieve and immediate aching.
If you’re taking some time for yourself at home to binge on the latest TV series, take a few minutes every hour, or during a show, to do a little stretching or yoga for your back.
Bedtime Stretches--
Are you having a hard time winding down at night because of your back pain? Try doing so yoga or stretches in bed right before you fall asleep. This will help relieve some of the stress in your back and help you relax enough to fall asleep.
A great exercise that we’ve found is from SEASONED: Eight Bedtime Stretches to Relieve Lower Back Pain.
