Your Exterior Is Your Attractive Selling Point

Everyone always talks about the kitchen as being your home’s unique selling point. Well, I have to respectfully disagree with this analysis. I feel that actually, the exterior of the property plays a much larger role in helping your home sell. When it comes to selling your home, you have to remember that presentation is paramount. You have to do everything you can to attract and entice buyers.
And I feel the best way to accomplish that is by touching up the exterior of the home. Of course, you need to make sure the inside is impeccable as well. But, the first thing people are going to see and make judgments about is the exterior. That’s the reason I feel it trumps the kitchen as the most important part of trying to sell your home. Here are a few of my suggestions for sprucing up the outside of the home to try to get that sale.
Front Yard--
The front yard, if you have one, is the perfect place to start. This is presenting the buyer with what they feel they could make the home look like. So it needs to be picturesque, colorful and inviting. They need to see all the possibility that a front yard holds for them. I would recommend making sure everything is neat, tidy, and trimmed as much as possible. Plant different colored flowers and try to make sure the hedgerows are neatly pruned. A small gate and picket fence would really be the icing on the cake here.
Guttering--
A lot of people often overlook the guttering on their properties as well. These play a big role in making the home look better, but they also serve a practical purpose. When someone is looking to buy a home they want somewhere that isn’t going to present a lot of stress. A place they can move into that is functional and practical. If you don't have guttering, I suggest a visit to JS Gutters to see what they can offer you. It’s important to get sufficient guttering on the home to deal with rainwater, and it makes the property look that much nicer as well.
Roof--
Did you know that the roof is perhaps the key part of your entire home? It’s like the tires on your car in many ways. The roof takes the most amount of wear and tear from exposure to the elements. It also protects the property from bad weather and security risks. That’s why you need to make roofing a priority. No matter how careful you are, you will experience problems with your roof at some stage. You need to fix these and get the roof repaired as soon as you can. Your property is not going to sell with a dodgy roof. So you might want to think about getting the roof repaired or re-laid just before you start trying to sell.
As you can see, these are just a few of the important parts of your home’s exterior. And they are all things that play a huge role in helping you sell the home. I think you need to focus on getting the exterior flawless, and then you can move inside. Give yourself the best possible chance of a sale by making use of my tips today.
