I know a lot of people dread the word ‘exercise’, but it’s important! If you have a sedentary job, it’s especially important you make the effort to exercise! There’s bound to be a form of exercise out there that appeals to you. You can always start off small and then work your way onto something better. The fact that you’re exercising at all is great!
Eat Quality, Real Food
Quality, real food is a must if you want to stay healthy. The amount you eat is an entirely different matter, but let’s focus on the type for now. You’ll need things like vegetables, lean protein, rice, and potatoes. Junk food and processed foods should be limited. Make sure you’re smart about what you put into your body, say UHN. It’ll make a massive difference to the way you feel and look!
Keep Drinking to a Minimum
Drinking too much within a short space of time is dangerous. Even if you don’t develop a problem, you can really damage your insides. Try not to binge drink. If you go on a big night out, space your drinks out. Drink water in between, or at least a non alcoholic drink. You’ll not only save yourself from health problems, you’ll also feel better the next day!
Get Plenty of Sleep
Sleep is really important. Not getting enough of it can affect how we act during the day. Make sure you’re getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night to wake up feel refreshed.
Do Things You Enjoy
What is life without doing things we enjoy? One day we’ll all be gone, so it makes no sense to spend all of our time working. Make a list of things you enjoy doing and make a vow to do them more. You’ll only regret it later if you don’t.
Stress can actually be a huge health issue. De-stress by taking hot baths, clearing your mind, and taking yourself away from stressful situations.
Learn to Love Yourself
Loving yourself is a skill. It doesn’t always come naturally! Learn to love yourself and you’ll live a much more peaceful life. Get in touch with your emotions.
Keep an Eye on Changes
Keep an eye on any changes in your body and health. See a doctor to make sure you’re OK. You might think it’s nothing, but it’s better to catch something sooner rather than later. Don’t brush off health concerns!
