..::Review + Giveaway::.. JGOB Makeup Blending Sponge

My Review of the JGOB Makeup Blending Sponge

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Our premium Neon Green makeup blender beauty sponges are made from the highest quality materials we could find. No expense was spared in the making as we wanted to provide the most superior makeup sponge we could offer. It has a curved surface which helps contour hard to reach spots of the face and will not absorb too much makeup preventing waste and helping your makeup products last longer."

I was sent a neon green blending sponge from JGOB to review.

The price for this blending sponge is $11.97. Shipping is free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of the JGOB Makeup Blending Sponge

This blending sponge arrived to me in perfect condition.  It comes in a clear plastic travel case that measures approximately 2.75" x 2.0".  It is designed for travel, and due to that it is protected yet lightweight.

The front of the package labels the brand, product, and a little supporting information:

+ [Comes in] a world travel case.
+ Designed in Portland, Oregon.

The top of the case technically unscrews, but I don't know if mine is a fluke or something, but it pops right off and if I twist it, it doesn't stay on.  If I push it all the way down hard, it works just fine.  The actual blending sponge is sealed in plastic for your first use.

My Personal Experience with the JGOB Makeup Blending Sponge

Honestly, as much as I love makeup, it took me awhile to hop on the 'blending sponge' bandwagon.  Something about them just seemed odd to me.  I have tried other brands before, and they were hard, didn't do their job, and frankly-- a waste of money.  I kind of went into this review a little biased...thinking this isn't going to be that great.  BUT, if anything this has changed how I feel about these.  It's pretty awesome.

As soon as I unwrapped it, I smooshed it.  I mean, that's seriously what you WANT to do with it because it's so soft and...just...smooshy.  Well, it's shaped very nicely so it gets right into any of the fine lines and natural contours of your face.  It's able to match anybody's face type.

You can use these wet or dry-- I used mine wet.  I ran it under a little tepid water, and it expanded.  Not too much, but it did get noticeably larger, but it still kept its distinct softness.

I put a little foundation on the back of my hand and soaked it up with the sponge.  I only used about half of the amount for my entire face than I normally do.  After I was done using it, the makeup was spread pretty thinly around the sponge and washed right out like I never even used it!

Pros of the JGOB Makeup Blending Sponge
  • Soft.
  • Only uses a portion of your normal amount of makeup.
  • Flawless finish.
  • Even application.
  • Washes clean after every use.

Cons of the JGOB Makeup Blending Sponge
  • There was absolutely no further information on the packaging.  I would have liked a little pamphlet or even a website directing me to where I could find the information!
If you know pretty much anything about makeup, you know that the beauty blenders are where it’s at right now.  They are the hottest thing on the market (as far as application tools go), and honestly the only way you are going to get a good one is to get the real one.  ALL of the dupes that I have used have been as hard as a rock and never give the correct and subtle blended finish like the original.

        Until now.

This is the FIRST blender that I have used that can be considered remotely comparable to the original.  This is even way better than the Real Techniques which is quite impressive.  I love the softness, the fact that you can use it wet or dry, and not have to worry about it breaking open, molding over, or just getting as hard as a brick.  This even has its own little storage case… how perfect.  Save your money on paying for a brand name and grab one of these--- you won’t be disappointed.
