Packaging & Presentation of the Acquapura Personal Water Filter

This water filter arrived to me in perfect condition.  It came shipped inside of a pretty snug flip-top box.

The front of the box labels the brand and product.  The back of the box outlined the 3-state water cleaning process.  It also provides the features and specifications:

+ Prevents major illness-- salmonella, giardia, cholera, diarrhea
+ Fail-safe 'full filter' cutoff
+ Durable Design
+Portable & Lightweight
+ Environmentally friendly

The right side of the box provides contact information and a QR code for further information.  The left side of the box gives a colored picture of the actual product.  This water filter meets EPA purifier standards, is BPA-free, and 100% recyclable.

The filter came in retail packaging, and the top flips open to reveal the filter straw.

It came with a very thorough instruction and care manual.

My Personal Experience with the Acquapura Personal Water Filter

I have a very large water filter in my kitchen, and even though it's 'portable', it's not as portable as a water filter straw.

I was excited to try this little one-- I have never tried any other than the Berkey.  The kit came with everything that I needed.

The pre-filter comes with extra pieces and it attaches directly to the input.

I flushed the filter before trying it.

The manual shows that you can connect a water bottle to it and use it directly like that.  It didn't work for me.  I suppose with other water bottles it might, but I think the lip is pretty standard-- so no-go there.

Be careful with the cap-- it goes on really hard, and I couldn't get it off!  I pulled and ended up breaking the connector.  It still holds on, but obviously it's not connected anymore.

Pros of the Acquapura Personal Water Filter
  • Portable.
  • Meets EPA purification standards.
  • Easy to use.
  • Lightweight and effective.

Cons of the Acquapura Personal Water Filter
  • There were spelling mistakes on the packaging.
  • It did not fit on a water bottle top like the manual claimed.
  • The cap is extremely difficult to pull off.
        Summary

I keep an emergency kit at home and I keep one in the car—you can never be ‘too prepared’.  I was very excited to try this because this is the one that was going to go into my car emergency kit.  I’m also pretty big into water filtration.  About two years ago I invested in a Berkey Water System, and that’s what I use as my emergency backup for my house.  This does the same thing, but on a much smaller scale.

It comes with everything that you need.  You never know when you may get stranded somewhere that doesn’t have clean drinking water.  This solves your problem.  It takes a TON of stuff out of the water, making it safe for you to ingest.  The plastic cap that protects the mouthpiece is really, really stuck on there, and the first time that I tried to get mine off, it broke.  It still goes on and off, but the plastic attachment piece is no longer attached.  Other than that, it’s well made.
