Review Details…

I was sent the dōTERRA Introductory Kit from Caroline Fausel (Independent Wellness Advocate) for review.

This kit costs $26.67.  You also need a membership to shop dōTERRA's collection ($35), but Ms. Caroline is offering to pay for anybody's membership whose first order is $100+.

Packaging & Presentation of dōTERRA's Essential Oil Introductory Kit
This introductory kit arrived safely to my door.  It was packed inside of a plastic wrap.  Nothing was broken or leaking.

The front of the box labels the product, brand, and contents.  The back of the box featured a colorful photo of lavender plants.  You can also find dōTERRA's contact information towards the bottom.

The box flips open from the front and there are locking tabs on the side.

The bottom half presents the oils nested inside individual slots.  The top half outlines uses for each of the oils.

Here's a closer photo of each so you can see it in detail (click on the picture to enlarge).

The front of each oil labels the brand, type (easy term and scientific), and size.  Each bottle is color coded for easy identification.

The right side of the label provides the supplement facts, directions, and labels that these oils are CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade).

The left side of the label is where you will find dōTERRA's contact information, uses, and cautionary statements associated with product use.

Each oil specifies to dilute one drop into 4.0 fl oz of liquid (a carrier, water, etc.).

The bottom of each bottle is where you will find the product lot number and expiration date printed clearly.

Initially, the caps are locked in place with a neck ring, so you know that you are the first person using them.

My Personal Experience with dōTERRA's Essential Oil Introductory Kit

I don't know if I am the only one who has felt this way, but I have only recently noticed the drastic increase of people using and swearing by essential oils.  I'm talking about within the past two years.  I see stuff about it all over my Facebook news feed, I see decals on people's cars, and I hear people talking about them.

I have a few essential oils myself, but I honestly never really thought there was so much a difference between the bottles that I bought and the name brand ones like these.  As I have been using them, I have noticed a few choice characteristics:

+ Quality.  Wow.
+ Powerful.  These are very concentrated.
+ Performance.  These work when and how you need them to.
+ Fragrance.  These are true, top notch oils.

What I really like about this kit is that you get a very basic set, but if you create blends-- these are definitely a foundation for many.  During that past few weeks of using these, I have been surfing the dōTERRA website, and they have a ton of different oils.  I have counted 44 single oils, and 21 blended oils.  I think this introductory kit is great for anybody new to the essential oil world or somebody who is new to dōTERRA oils in general.  These are totally different than any I have used before, namely because:

a.) You only need ONE drop of these.
b.)  They are for aromatic, topical, and dietary use.  Yep. You can ingest these.

The peppermint oil is very nice.  You can use this for your sinuses, add it to your shampoo to make it a little tingly, use it as a wake-me-up, or diffuse it to put a little energy in your room. My son loves peppermint oil.  He always asks for it when he wants to focus on something (in this case sorting out his Pokemon collection...). He puts a single drop on the inside of his wrist.

Now, the lemon oil is my favorite.  But that's not a surprise because I like everything lemon!  Uses of this oil include making a drink with honey to soothe a sore throat, removing gross substances from fabric, adding directly to water for a little flavor.

I love diffusing it.  The smell is intoxicating.  It smells like I live in a house made up of Lemonheads and just makes me so happy.

Lastly, the lavender oil.  Lavender is okay, it's not my favorite scent.  Maybe because I like to move, and lavender puts me to sleep and relaxes me.  Some other uses for lavender oil are:  adding to a bath for relaxation, reviews available at FreeYourSpine, and adding to lotion for a massage.  Do you see a common denominator, here?  Lavender is great for a lot of things, but perfect for the person who just can't seem to relax.  I don't really diffuse this one, but I have used it in a bubble bath.

Pros of dōTERRA's Essential Oil Introductory Kit
  • Many, many different uses.
  • You get a VERY quality bunch of oils for your money.
  • Really, really strong fragrance.  It smells so good.
  • Packaged for safe arrival.
  • A base kit, perfect for the beginner.
Cons of dōTERRA's Essential Oil Introductory Kit
      • I haven't found any cons of these oils.

Essential oils are great and they have so many uses.  Quality oils are hard to come across, you don't want to spend money on water with a little bit of oil in it.   They are so universal.  You can do so much with this kit, and it's one of the best essential oil brands to start with in my opinion.  Yes, they are a bit on the high end of the price spectrum, but they are so worth it.  While cheaper options are available, the price tag here dictates the quality.
