My Review of Crystal Wash

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Everyone has to do laundry… and we want to make it both new and exciting. Crystal Wash is something that works and we can make doing laundry easier for you, better for the environment and at the same time save you money.  We think Crystal Wash could be a great story here for these reasons:  Innovative gear – 1000 loads of clean laundry without using Detergents, Chemicals or Perfume. We’re an amazingly efficient and natural way to do laundry."

I was sent a set from Crystal Wash to review.

The price for this set is $49.99.

Packaging & Presentation of Crystal Wash

This awesome set of Crystal Wash arrived to my house in perfect condition.  There were no rips, tears, nor defects during shipment.  The packaging is really nice.  They come in a heavy-duty full flip top box.  The box  measures 9.75" x 4.5" x 4.5".  There were not any directions on the inside.  They are only printed on the outside.  They are pretty easy to use, so you probably don't need to keep the box around.  It is mostly white with a variety of accent colors.

The front of the box labels the product and brand.  It shows a picture of what the Crystal Wash looks like.  The back of the box provides the directions and the website for reference.

Both sides of the box are the same.  They say, "1,000 Loads of Laundry.  NO detergents, chemicals, dyes, perfumes.  Just Naturally Crystal Clean Clothes".

The set of Crystal Wash are nested inside cardboard circle cutouts.  Each one is individually wrapped in plastic.  The holder says, "Thank you for washing your clothes naturally."

There is a warning stamped onto each bag.

The Crystal Wash have rechargeable bioceramics within them.  They have little slots to clean your clothes and absorb odors without the use of chemicals.

My Personal Experience with Crystal Wash

I was so excited to try these!  The whole idea of them is great-- 1,000 loads of laundry without detergent?  Yes, please.  How do you recharge them?  Throw 'em into the sun for an afternoon.  I was looking forward to seeing what they can do.

To begin with, here is my 'normal' routine laundry products:  laundry powder, BioKleen, Natural Stain Remover, and Boost packs.

I really wanted to put these to the test, so I stained up a white shirt with a few common (but difficult to remove) stains.  Grass, mud/dirt, catsup, BBQ sauce, and chocolate syrup.

I started the water, and I put the Crystal Wash spheres in.  I added a few drops of lavender essential oil for fragrance.  For stains, you are supposed to add an advanced stain remover, but I really wanted to push the limits here, so I didn't.  I wanted to see how much of these stains the Crystal Wash remove without any help.

I added the stained-up t-shirt along with a few towels.

The Crystal Wash spheres looked perfectly fine when everything was done.  They smelled like lavender, so they really absorb the fragrance.

I was excited to see the results! When I pulled out the white shirt, I still saw a visual of the stains.  Keep in mind that I didn't add any additional stain remover.  The shirt smelled so good, though!  It smelled fresh and clean.  The stains did fade, but I think if I added the stain remover, they'd be gone.  I was quite impressed!

Pros of Crystal Wash
  • No harsh chemicals! Great for sensitive skin.
  • Can be used in both top and front loaders.
  • Natural, recharge them in the sun every 2-3 weeks.
  • Good for 1,000 loads of laundry.
  • Really absorbs odors.
Cons of Crystal Wash
  • If you have stains on your clothes, you cannot forget to add a stain remover, because they won't completely vanish without it.

I'm honestly really impressed with these.  I've never tried anything like them before.  It was a fun test, and I definitely pushed the Crystal Wash to its limits.  I love that the clothes smell fresh and clean without any chemical additives.  They are easy to use, and do not require a ton of maintenance.  I definitely recommend them!
