..::Product Review::.. Ozeri 10" Green Earth Frying Pan - Textured Series

My Review of the Ozeri 10" Green Earth Frying Pan - Textured Series

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Utilizing GREBLON a natural ceramic coating from Germany, the Green Earth Pan by Ozeri is one of the world's first frying pans to achieve non-stick perfection while remaining absolutely free of PTFE, PFOA and other harmful chemicals.  The Green Earth Pan is made of the highest quality anodized aluminum that allows for even cooking and fantastic browning. It boasts a magnetized bottom for induction stoves, and a heat resistant silicone coated handle. This version of the Green Earth Pan features a textured ceramic cooking surface. The elevations of the textured cooking surface create air pockets which distribute heat underneath food to enhance cooking performance."

Review…

I was sent the 10" Green Earth Pan (Textured) from Ozeri to review.

Packaging & Presentation of
the Ozeri 10" Green Earth Frying Pan - Textured Series

I've gotten quite a few things shipped to my house (I'm an Amazon junkie if you haven't noticed!), but I've never received a frying pan before.  I had no idea how this would ship, but it ended up arriving in absolute pristine condition.  The box part (not including the handle) measures 10.75" x 10.75" x 2.0", so it ships in a pretty large box.  The box is white heavy-duty cardboard with green and black accents.  The pan's handle is sticking out of the box, and the entire thing is wrapped in plastic wrap.

The front of the box labels the product and brand.  It lets you know what size pan you are getting, and it also features a see-through window so you can check out the texture of the inside of the pan.

The back of the box provides a few important details about the pan.  It also explains how the pan works.  There is also a window on this side so you can see the outside of the pan.

Out of the four sides of the box, three of them have information on them.  The first side discusses a little bit about Greblon, the technology from Germany that is the non-stick coating.  The opposite side is a miniature version of the front of the box, and the bottom is where the UPC, model number, and manufacturer information is located.

When I took off the box, the entire pan is wrapped in plastic.  After unwrapping it, I found a green felt pan protector and a set of instructions (for seasoning, washing, and storage).

There is a sticker on the center of the pan that alerts about the Greblon ceramic that is used.

My Personal Experience with the Ozeri 10" Green Earth Frying Pan - Textured Series

I enjoy cooking, and a good pan can make all of the difference.  I choose to use coated pans because stainless just doesn't work for me.  Probably because I burn everything to the bottom.  I was so excited to try this pan out-- the color, the new Greblon ceramic, and just the fact that it is made by Ozeri.  They offer high quality products that I love to keep in my kitchen.

Before anything, let's check out both sides of this 10" pan.  The inside is smooth on the sides, but has a textured center, and this creates air pockets that allow even heat distribution.

The bottom has a stainless bottom that is induction stove safe.  If you peek at the side, you will see that it is an amazing lime green color.  The company name 'Ozeri' is displayed in the middle.

Instructions.  Yes.  Please read them.  Ozeri wants you to read them, because this User's Guide is printed in 10 different languages.  It explains how to season your new pan, how to care for it, and how to store it.  Best of all, it gives usage information.

I wanted to cook something with it, so I seasoned it with some peanut oil.  I recommend seasoning your pans at least once per year.  I season mine about twice.  For this pan, I used 1/2 teaspoon of oil since it is 10".  I wiped out the excess oil with a paper towel, and it was ready for use.

I cooked some corn nuggets!  If you haven't tried these things, you need to.  They aren't healthy or anything, but everything in moderation, right?  I didn't use any oil, any spray, or anything.  Completely non-stick, and these nuggets always stick.

I hand wash and dry all of my pans and hang them up.  I don't trust my dishwasher.  If you don't have a pot hanger, Ozeri provides a pan storage protector in the box.

        Summary

What a great pan.  The sides are tall enough that you can cook more 'soupy' stuff in here if you choose to do so, or you can pour a 1/2" of oil in here and fry away!  The possibilities are endless.  The quality put into this pan has far surpassed my expectations.  I am incredibly happy with this pan, and I love, love, love using it.  I give this my highest recommendation.

Ozeri provides a 1-year warranty on this product.

I would love to try one of these pans. My best test of a pan is if it fries eggs without sticking. I can make really good eggs but ONLY if I have a good pan. It is good advice to wash and dry your pan instead of using the dishwasher. I do this with my best pan.
