..::Product Review::.. RTG's Micro LED 30 String Lights

My Review of RTG's Micro LED 30 String Lights

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"These 30 Micro LED Battery Operated String Lights are perfect for use as a lighting addition to any decorative project. Very thin wire hosts 30 very small LED bulbs that are about size of rice grain and are intensely bright. With steady 360 degree viewing angle they illuminate in every direction. They are easy to hide, give beautiful true color, and use only a fraction of energy needed by regular light strings. Newly designed battery box with locking clips is waterproofed and very easy to hide."

I was a sent a box of the 30 Micro LED String Lights from RTG to review.
The price for these lights is $7.95, and qualifies for free shipping with Amazon Prime.

There are other options, too.  You can get 100, 60, 30, or 20 lights (depending on your project's needs).

Packaging & Presentation of
RTG's Micro LED 30 String Lights

The lights were smaller than I thought, and arrived in a 3.5" x 4" x 1" plastic box.  I guess I was expecting something like Christmas lights, but these are tiny.

The front of the box labels the product, and points out 8 product specifications.  The back of the box is see through, but you can see a little card that reminds you that there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

The first side of the box lists the 8 different operating functions.  The opposite side lists the product usage cautions.

After taking it out of the box, you can see the black battery box and the LED lights that are attached.

The battery box has clips (a new product addition that makes this box waterproof).  The clips allow you to open and close the battery compartment.

There are 8 different operating functions.  I was confused at first because functions 4 and 6 are the same, but upon further research, I found that function 4 uses 2 sets of lights, and function 6 uses them all at the same time.  There is also a button in the top left that lets the user select the mode.  Just press it the same amount of times as the operating function number.

My Personal Experience with RTG's Micro LED 30 String Lights

I love playing around with lights.  They are really fun, and what I liked about these is that they are so versatile.  You can use them inside or outside, underwater or on the surface, and the wire is green so it's easy to hide.

Before anything, I put (3) AA batteries in the battery box.

Then I found a bunch of different places to try them out!  I found that they work in a variety of instances.  I took pictures while it was light outside, so the pictures do not do justice to how nice these lights actually are.

The work as a festive kitchen decoration during the holiday season.  Around the oven handle or lighting up the edges of a table.

They work great as bathroom ambient lighting.

They are nice to wrap around outdoor posts/staircases for any occasion.

The lights wrap easily around any piece of furniture, and the box is easy to hide.  The dark wire blends well.

I also like that these lights can be used in crafts.  Sometimes lighting is all you need to give your handmade craft a little 'dimension'.

Pros of RTG's Micro LED 30 String Lights
  • Very easy to use.
  • These lights are bright.  They look beautiful in both day and night.
  • There are so many potential uses, depending on what your project is.
  • Indoor/outdoor, submersible in water, green connecting wire.
  • Built-in timer (6 hrs on, 18 hrs off).
  • Lights have over 20 years of lifespan!

Cons of RTG's Micro LED 30 String Lights
    • Sometimes the wire wraps around itself and it easily tangles.

I can't wait to buy some more of these!  These would be great for the holiday season.  They are so easy to put up, and I like how easily you can select the mode of operation.  These lights can literally be placed anywhere.
